Organic Mung Bean – Microgreen/Sprouting

Growing Instructions

Grow as a microgreen

1. Soak the seed for 6-10 hours
2. Sow your seeds directly onto a moistened growing medium and lightly mist the seeds with water.
3. Place the seeded tray into a second tray without drainage holes. This will allow you to bottom water the tray.
4. Cover with a lid or another tray and lightly mist as needed.
5. After 3-5 days, remove the cover and place in a well-lit location.
6. When watering the seedlings, keep using the bottom tray.
7. Harvest between 8-12 days or when the seedlings are 5-7cm tall. Cut the stems above the soil line with a knife or scissors.

Grow as a sprouting

1. Clean and sterilise the sprouter.
2. Put the seeds in the sprouter and cover with room temperature water
3. Soak the seeds for 6-10 hours
4. Then rinse and drain all of the water until the seeds are damp.
5. Place the seeds in the sprouter and cover with a lid
6. Make sure to rinse the seeds 2-3 times a day until harvesting around days 2-4.
7. De-hull the sprouts before the final rinse.
