  1. Start the seeds indoors from February-May.
  2. Soak the seeds in warm water for 12-24 hours before sowing to aid germination.
  3. Sow the seeds on the surface of moist, well-drained seed compost and cover lightly.
  4. Keep at a temperature of 20-21c until germination occurs.
  5. Seeds will usually germinate within 7-14 days.
  6. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots.
  7. Grow on in bright, warm conditions.
  8. Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
  9. Plant out after the risk of frost has passed into their final growing position.
  10. Provide supports such as trellis, netting, or canes for the climbing stems.
  11. Water regularly during dry spells until established.
  12. Remove spent flowers if desired, as it will self-seed readily.
