- Sow the seeds indoors between January and April.
- Soak the seeds in cold water for 6-12 hours before sowing to improve germination.
- Cover the seeds with 6mm of compost.
- Place in a heated propagator at around 25c until seedlings appear.
- Germination usually takes about 10-21 days.
- Once germinated, grow on under cooler conditions.
- When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual small pots.
- Harden off the young plants gradually before planting outdoors after the last frost.
- Plant out in a sunny, sheltered spot with support for climbing.
- Water regularly while establishing, then allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
