Swede – Tweed F1
Swede – Tweed F1 . A British-bred F1 hybrid swede, early maturing and vigorous variety, growing particularly well in less fertile soils. The globe-shaped roots have attractive purple shoulders, an excellent cream coloured flesh of a fine texture and flavour. Excellent disease resistance including club root. Height 30cm.
 Cultivation advice Swede – Tweed F1
- Best sown directly to the growing bed outside from Mid May to Jul.
- Sow thinly ½ inch deep in drills 12 inches apart in soil that has been raked to a fine tilth.
- When the seedlings are large enough to handle, thin out to 6 inches apart, taking care not to disturb damage the remaining plants.  Seedlings do not transplant well.
- Keep the plants well watered especially whilst seedlings and weed free.
- Protection (netting) may be required if pigeons are a problem in your area.
