- Sow seeds from late January to mid-March in modules or small pots undercover.
- Sow 0.5–1 cm deep in moist seed compost and lightly cover.
- Maintain a temperature of 20-25c.
- The seeds should germinate in 7-14 days.
- Pot on seedlings when large enough to handle, keeping them in warm, bright conditions.
- Transplant to their final position between May to early June.
- Plant in individual pots or space 45-60cm apart.
- The stem may require some support.
- Water regularly and feed when flowering.
- Harvest from August to October when fruits are 3-4 inches or turn red.
