Hot Pepper ‘Biquinho Red’

Pepper ‘Biquinho Red’ produces small, teardrop-shaped fruits that ripen from light green to bright red. With a mild heat level and fruity flavour, they’re perfect for eating fresh, adding to stir-fries, or pickling in jars, with the red type offering a slightly deeper flavour than the yellow.

The name Biquinho means “little beak” in Portuguese and is native to Central America.

  1. Sow the seeds on moist soil and lightly cover.
  2. Gently compress the soil and place it in a bright location.
  3. These are best in a heated propagator, at a constant temperature of 22-24c.
  4. Water as necessary and the seeds should germinate between 7-14 days.
  5. Once true leaves have developed, transplant the seedlings into individual pots.
  6. When 10-12cm plant in a greenhouse or conservatory with the root ball 1cm below the surface.
  7. The stem may require some support.
  8. Water regularly and feed weekly with our all-purpose plant feed.
