Organic Corncockle Agrostemma Githago
A medium height annual (1m) with long, narrow and softly hairy leaves. The large pinky purple flowers are borne singly on a long stem and are surrounded by long pointed sepals. The flowers are followed by a straw coloured flask like seed head containing large (3.5mm) black, rough textured seed.

- Can be sown on bare earth to the flowering position in the autumn or spring.
- Avoid sowing in winter or mid – summer. .
- Prefers free draining sandy loams but will grow on most types.
- Will readily self seed but needs surrounding plants mown and soil scarified in late autumn / winter.
