- Start the seeds indoors in late winter to spring.
- Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of moist, well‑drained seed compost and gently press in.
- Don’t cover the seeds as they require light to germinate.
- Keep consistently moist at an ideal temperature of 18-24c while germinating.
- Seeds usually germinate in about 10-21 days, depending on conditions.
- Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into trays with spacing around 5cm.
- Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions.
- Plant out after the danger of frost has passed, space 10-15 cm apart in their final position.
- Choose a sunny or partly shaded, well‑drained site.
- Cut back faded flowers in midsummer to rejuvenate the plant and encourage continued flowering.
Lobelia ‘White Lady’ is an upright variety which produces masses of bright white flowers over green foliage. Free-flowering through summer, it’s ideal for beds, borders, and containers.
