Herb Mexican Mint / Tarragon / Sweet Mace
Known under a variety of names Sweet Mace / Mexican Mint / Mexican Tarragon (Tagetes Lucinda) produces large amounts of fresh leaves and flowers with a sweet licourice flavour, perfect in salads and culinary dishes. Â It is also commonly used as a substitute for tarragon. Leaves can be dried. Â Height 60cm

- Sow seeds 1/8″ deep under cover in soil mix from 6-8 weeks before the last frost. When the seedlings large enough to handle prick out into trays and grow on.
- Pinch back tips to promote branching and well-shaped plant. to prevent plant lodging, or falling over in the wind..
- Harden off before planting outside, after the last frost in your area.
- Can be sown directly outside after all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed.
- Avoid over feeding as this will produce very lush weakly flavoured leaves and few flowers.
- If left to self-seed this plant will readily spread (fast)
