- Start the seeds indoors from February-April.
- Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of moist seed compost and lightly cover.
- Keep at a temperature of 18-20c until germination occurs.
- Seeds will usually germinate within 10-21 days.
- Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots.
- Grow on in bright light, keeping the compost just moist.
- Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
- Plant out after the risk of frost has passed into their final flowering position.
- Choose a sunny, well-drained site for best growth and flowering.
- Space plants about 20-30 cm apart.
- Water regularly during dry spells until established, but avoid waterlogging.
- Will readily self seed.
Gypsophila elegans ‘Pink’ is an annual with delicate, tiny pink flowers on airy stems. Perfect for borders, cottage gardens, or cutting, it’s excellent for bouquets and floral arrangements.
