Gerbera Jamesonii Hybrids Mix
Gerbera make an excellent house plant with their exotic 7-10cm flower heads held on long stems in a range of colours. Â Â Originating from South Africa they are not UK hardy and are best grown undercover, although they will cope on a sunny sheltered spot in southern UK.
Cultivation Advice Gerbera Jamesonii Hybrids Mix
- Sow Feb / Mar under cover with warmth provided.  A windowsill in Feb / Mar is too cold.
- Germination 15-25 days on loamy moist seed compost.
- Sow thinly in trays and lightly cover with the seed compost.  Water gently and keep at around 20c.
- When seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 9cm pots. Grow on indoors or undercover.
- Do not over-water as the variety is prone to rotting.  Keep pots on the dry side.
- Remove dead flower to prolong flowering (May – Aug)
