Echinops Ritro – Metallic Blue. A stunning border perennial producing an abundance of eye-catching blue ball thistle like flowers on robust 1.2m plants with serrated blue green leaves.  Flowers Jun – Aug and will readily self-seed.

Cultivation Advice Echinops Ritro – Metallic Blue 

• Sow from Mar – Jun with additional warmth (20-25C).
• Gently press seed into the growing medium, no not cover or exclude light.  Place tray in a propagator or seal in a clear plastic bag to maintain humidity / moisture.
• When the seedling are large enough to handle transplant and grow on under cooler conditions.
• Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out, after all risk of frost has passed.
• Plants need plenty of drainage / added grit in order to survive over-winter and full sun.
• Spacing 60cm.
