- Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost from February-April.
- Alternatively, sow directly outdoors after the last frost onto prepared soil.
- Keep at 12-15c, germination occurs in 14-21 days.
- When seedlings are large enough, transplant into 8cm pots.
- Grow on in a cool greenhouse or bright windowsill, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged.
- Gradually acclimatise plants before moving them outdoors.
- Plant out in full sun, in moist, well-drained soil, spacing 60cm apart, once all risk of frost has passed.
- If sown directly outside, thin to 25cm apart, replanting usable thinnings.
- Sow under glass between May-July for flowering the following year.
- Deadhead regularly to extend the flowering period.
