- Start the seeds indoors between February and April.
- Sow the seeds on the surface of moist, well‑drained seed compost and press them in gently.
- Cover the seeds lightly with vermiculite or a thin layer of compost.
- Place in a heated propagator at a constant temperature of 18-22c.
- The seeds will germinate in 7-14 days.
- Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow on in cooler conditions.
- Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions and plant out once the risk of frost has passed.
- Space plants about 30cm apart in full sun and well‑drained soil.
- Deadhead or cut flowers regularly to extend the flowering period.
- For dried flowers, harvest stems when blooms are fully developed and hang upside down in a cool, dry place until dry.
