Schizanthus Angel Wings Mix . A stunning annual also known as “Poor Man’s Orchid” due to its amazing displays of colour. The plants are compact and branching reaching 30-45cm and will produce a blanket of colour in pink, lavender, rose red and two-tones. Prefers cool summer conditions or light shade.
Cultivation Advice Schizanthus Angel Wings Mix
- Sow under cover with warmth in trays from 8-10 weeks prior to the last frost. Can be sown late spring in a glasshouse but needs 15-20C to germinate. Surface sow pressing seed gently into growing medium as they require light to germinate.
- Germination averages 1-3 weeks depending on temperature provided.
- Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle and grow on under glass or acclimatise and plant out in warm weather.
- Performs well in containers as well, but does need to be kept out of the hottest mid-summer conditions.
