Purple Spring Onion Lilia
A dual purpose purple / red Italian variety with an intense pungent flavour. Best grown as a salad onion and picked young with nice, dark green leaves and a shiny, intense red inner core.
Can also be grown as a maincrop, storing bulb onion at 130 days from germination producing crimson purple bulbs of excellent intense peppery flavour. Stores well.

Light: Full Sun or Partial Shade
- Sow directly outdoors, depth 1/4 to 1/2 inch, in full sun to partial shade and well drained soil from as soon as the ground can be worked in Spring.
- Planting Space rows 6-8 inches apart. Scatter seed in the row at the rate of 3 seeds per inch.
- Harvest alternative young plants in 60 days and if required leave the remainder to mature.
- Fertile, moist soil enriched with compost is best for onion production.
