Organic Mung Bean – Growing Instructions
Grow as a microgreen
- Soak the seed for 6-10 hours
- Sow your seeds directly onto a moistened growing medium and lightly mist the seeds with water.
- Place the seeded tray into a second tray without drainage holes. This will allow you to bottom water the tray.
- Cover with a lid or another tray and lightly mist as needed.
- After 3-5 days, remove the cover and place in a well-lit location.
- When watering the seedlings, keep using the bottom tray.
- Harvest between 8-12 days or when the seedlings are 5-7cm tall. Cut the stems above the soil line with a knife or scissors.
Grow as a sprouting
- Clean and sterilise the sprouter.
- Put the seeds in the sprouter and cover with room temperature water
- Soak the seeds for 6-10 hours
- Then rinse and drain all of the water until the seeds are damp.
- Place the seeds in the sprouter and cover with a lid
- Make sure to rinse the seeds 2-3 times a day until harvesting around days 2-4.
- De-hull the sprouts before the final rinse.
