- Sow seeds indoors between February-April indoors.
- Place 0.5cm deep and lightly cover with compost.
- Place somewhere warm and the seeds should germinate in 7-14 days.
- Once germinated, grow in in cooler conditions.
- Gradually acclimatise the seedlings to outdoor conditions before planting out, after the risk of frost has passed.
- Protect young seedlings from slugs and snails, especially during early growth.
- Water as needed until the plants are established.
French Marigold (Tagetes patula) ‘Dainty Marietta’ is a dwarf variety with golden-yellow blooms marked by rich red centres. Ideal for borders, containers or as a companion plant to help deter soil nematodes and whitefly, especially around tomatoes.
