Kniphofia Crown Hybrid. A hardy perennial, producing unique bright flowers originally from Africa. The red, orange, and yellow spikes of flowers grow 12 to 18 inches long. The flowers grow on stalks on top of long, sword-like, grey-green leaves 32-48 inches. These showy flowers are perfect in the front of a shrub border, in the back of flower gardens, or lining a long driveway. A great cut flower. They tolerate wind and prefer moist soil.

- Cover seeds with 1/4 inch of soil.
- Plants require light for best germination.
- Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
- Transplant indoor plants when young seedlings are about 2-3 inches high into 3 inch pots and then place in a cool place for 10 to 15 days.
- Set the plants outdoors after all danger of frost spaced 18 to 24 inches.
- Sowings made in mid-summer and after should be over-wintered on a cool place before planting the following spring.
- Fertilize monthly during growing season.
- Plants should only be divided when plants show overcrowding.
- When divided, the plants will not flower for a season until they become use to the new location.
