Italian Heirloom Long Red Florence Onion
Italian Heirloom Long Red Florence Onion is an attractive and popular Italian Heirloom variety. It  produces torpedo shaped deep purple to red 6in long onions. They have a mild, sweet excellent flavour. Perfect for salads or pickling. You  can either pull them young as spring onions or allow them to mature for August cropping. Stores well.
Cultivation Advice Italian Heirloom Long Red Florence Onion
- Sow directly outdoors, depth 1/4 to 1/2 inch, in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil from as soon as the ground can be worked in spring.
- Planting Space rows 6-8 inches apart. Scatter seed in the row at the rate of 3 seeds per inch.
- Harvest alternative young plants in 60 days and if required leave the remainder to mature.
- Fertile, moist soil enriched with compost is best for onion production.
