Perfect for the smaller garden Hestia delivers all the best characteristics of modern runner beans, but on dwarf plants with a good yield of tasty, slim, straight, stringless 20cm (8in) pods   As simple as normal runner beans to propagate reaching a height of around 40 to 45cm (16 to 18in).

Cultivation Advice Dwarf Runner Bean – Hestia

• Select the largest pot you have as the more organic matter contained the less frequent you will have to water in summer
• Sow in early spring under-cover in warmth a single seed 1in depth per pot.
• Gradually  harden off after all risk of frost has passed.
• Protect young plants from pests.
• although not essential something like pea sticks will help keep the plant upright.
• Keep well watered whilst flowers are setting.
• Pick regularly to encourage the plants to keep flowering.
