Growing Instructions
- Surface sow on fine seed type compost, do not exclude light or cover seed. To maintain humidity and moisture, you will need a propagator cover, piece of glass, or place the tray in a clear sealed plastic bag until germinated.
- Germination averages 2-3 weeks at 16-20c. Lower overnight temps will reduce germination.
- When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on under cover.
- Plant them out into their permanent position in the summer in a sunny spot with good air circulation and fairly fertile, well-drained soil. Excessive moisture at the roots overwinter may kill the plant.
- Cut back the flowering stems and old foliage in spring with care as the leaves have sharp edges and that can give a nasty cut.
