- Sow indoors from February to May.
- Soak seeds for 24 hours in warm water before sowing to improve germination.
- Sow seeds on the surface of moist compost and cover with 6mm of compost.
- Place in a propagator at 22-25c and germination will occur in 10-14 days.
- When seedlings are large enough, transplant into 7.5cm pots.
- After germination, grow on at a slightly cooler temperature to encourage strong growth.
- Once all frost has passed, harden off and plant outdoors in the final growing position.
- Alternatively, grow in large containers or a greenhouse growbag.
- Provide support as plants grow.
- When fruits begin to form, feed with a potassium-rich fertiliser at each watering.
- For the best flavour and continuous cropping, harvest fruits before the skin loses its shine.
