Allium Christophii, commonly known as the Star of Persia, is a stunning ornamental bulb that features large, globe-shaped clusters of star-shaped flowers. This variety is characterised by it’s silvery pink-purple hue and can reach up to a height of 50 cm.

A winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Allium Christophi – Cultivation Advice

  1. Plant between September-November, before the ground freezes.
  2. Loosen the soil to a depth of around 30cm and mix in organic matter to improve the drainage and soil quality.
  3. Use a hand trowel or bulb planter and dig a hole which is around 4 times the depth of the bulb.
  4. Place the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards.
  5. Gently cover the bulb and lightly compress the soil.

• Choose a location that receives full sun, ideally at least six hours of direct sunlight daily.
• After flowering, deadhead spent blooms to redirect energy back into the bulb.
• Allow foliage to die back naturally before removing it to help replenish nutrients for next year’s growth.
