Allium caeruleum

Allium ‘Caeruleum’ (also known as azureum) produces striking, bright blue globes of flowers which are composed of star-shaped florets. Flowering in early summer, this variety brings vibrant colour and texture to garden borders and mixed plantings.

It typically reaches a height of around 60 cm, with slender, upright stems rising above narrow green foliage that dies back before the flowers appear. For best effect, it should be planted alongside low-growing perennials that can provide ground cover at the base.
