- Start the seeds indoors from February-April.
- Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of moist seed compost.
- Don’t cover, as light aids germination.
- Keep at a temperature of 20-24c until germination occurs.
- Seeds will usually germinate within 7–14 days.
- Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots.
- Grow on in cooler conditions, keeping the compost moist.
- Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
- Plant out after the risk of frost has passed into their final flowering position.
- Choose a sunny or partially shaded, well-drained site for best growth.
- Space plants about 20-25 cm apart.
- Water regularly during dry spells until established.
- Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming throughout the season.
