Tomato Indigo Blue Berries

Is an exciting new series of open pollinated tomato varieties developed by Oregon State University using conventional techniques. Of cross breeding wild tomatoes from Peru and from the Galapagos Islands with well know standard types.

The fruits change colour significantly through their development and must be left on the vine to fully mature to get the best flavour.  Only the parts of the fruits that get a lot of sun keep their darker colour even when they have reached the right stage for harvesting.

These are best glasshouse grown in the UK, but can be grown outdoors subject to a reasonable UK summer in a very sunny, warm sheltered spot.
