 Maris Peer – Growing Instructions

  • After receiving the potatoes, lay the out into shallow boxes or trays and store in a cool area away from frost.
  • Two weeks before you plant your potatoes, move them into a light area which is around 10 degrees Celsius so that a strong sprout is produced.
  • The potatoes can turn green when exposed to light, but this is normal.
  • Plant the seed potatoes in drills that are around 70cm apart in each row.
  • The potatoes should be planted 30-35cm apart from each other.
  • Make sure the eyes are facing upwards and planted at a depth of 10-15cm.
  • Ideal soil conditions for potatoes are sandy loam soils.
