Classed as a second early this popular variety has short 40-50cm vines  thatproduce long pods 8-10cm long with around 9 extra sweet peas per pod. The variety  is resistant to Fusarium Wilt and Fusarium Root Rot.

Cultivation advice Pea Progress No 9  (Second early crop)

  • Start the seeds indoors, in deep pots or root trainers.
  • Sow the seeds at a depth of 40-50mm and place them at a temperature of 13-18c.
  • Germination should occur between 7-10 days.
  • Gradually acclimatise the seedlings once two sets of true leaves have been developed.
  • Alternatively, directly sow outdoors in drills between March-June.
  • As the seedlings grow, thin them to 60cm apart.
  • Regularly weed and water the area as needed.
  • The stem may require some support.
  • Harvest when the pods begin to swell.
  • To promote continued cropping, be sure to harvest regularly.
