- Start the seeds indoors from March-May
- Sow thinly about 5mm deep into well‑prepared soil.
- Keep the seeded area consistently moist until seedlings emerge.
- Seeds will usually germinate in about 2-3 weeks under ideal conditions between 18-28c.
- Once seedlings are established and large enough to handle, thin them to about 20-30 cm apart.
- Water as needed during dry spells.
- The flower spikes may require staking as they mature.
- Deadhead spent flowers to prolong the flowering window.
Lupin (Lupinus ‘Cruckshankii Sunrise’) produces upright stems with flowers that start azure blue and gradually fade to a soft yellow, offering a gentle fragrance. Best grown in small groups for the best impact in borders.
