Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Casanova Violet’ produces semi-dwarf, branching plants with vibrant violet daisy-like flowers above feathery, fern-like foliage. Ideal for pots, borders, or cutting, it provides long-lasting summer colour.

  1. Start the seeds indoors between March-May.
  2. Sow the seeds on the surface of moist compost and lightly cover
  3. Place in a heated propagator at a constant temperature of 20c.
  4. Alternatively, sow directly outside between May-June.
  5. The seeds will germinate in 7-21 days.
  6. Once the seedlings are 5-7cm, transplant into individual pots.
  7. Gradually acclimatise the plants to cooler conditions.
  8. When the seedlings have formed 2-3 pairs of leaves, pinch out the tips.
  9. Plant out once the risk of frost has passed (May-June).
  10. If growing in pots, use a liquid feed every couple of weeks.
