- Start the seeds indoors from February-May.
- Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of moist seed compost and don’t cover, as light aids germination.
- Place in a heated propagator at a temperature of 21-24c.
- Keep the compost consistently moist but not waterlogged.
- Seeds will usually germinate within 20-30 days but can be erraticx.
- Once germinated, remove any cover to increase air circulation and prevent damping off.
- Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots.
- Grow on in cooler conditions with bright, indirect light.
- Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
- Plant out after the risk of frost has passed into their final flowering position.
- Choose a sheltered, partially shaded site with moist, well-drained soil.
- Space plants about 20-25 cm apart.
- Water regularly during dry spells if needed.
- Remove spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming throughout the summer.
