- Sow seeds directly outdoors from March to May.
- Alternatively, sow August to September for flowering the following year. Early sowings may produce flowers in the first year.
- Sow 5mm deep in well-prepared, well-drained soil.
- Keep the soil lightly watered until germination.
- Germination will usually occur 42-56 days after sowing if conditions are ideal and is best at 15-18c.
- When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin to around 30-40 cm apart.
- For extended displays, sow in succession or interplant with other wildflowers.
- Cut back plants once flowering finishes to manage self-seeding if required.
