- Start undercover with warmth provided (65-70F) from 6 weeks prior to the last frost in your area.
- Best sown on a well drained medium, a mix of compost and vermiculite is ideal and lightly covered with the growing medium.
- When large enough to handle seedlings can be pricked out into individual pots and grown on at cooler temperatures.
- In the UK the plants will need a well sheltered very sunny location to thrive outdoors. Under glass will be fine.
- Gradually harden off any plants that are being planted outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.
- The fruits are ripe and ready to harvest when the fruit fills the calyx and the husk bursts.
- Store the tomatillos in their husks in a cool, dry place for up to two weeks.
