Strawberry ‘Honeoye’

Strawberry Honeoye is an early-season variety that produces high yields of bright red, medium to large berries.

This RHS Award of Garden Merit winner is ideal for growing in containers, beds, or planters and is perfect for eating fresh or freezing.

These plants are supplied as UK-grown, first-grade loose roots.

Remove the plants from the packaging as soon as they arrive.
Soak the roots in water for 20-30 minutes to rehydrate them.
Prepare well-drained soil in a sunny bed, pot, or container.
Plant with the crown just above soil level, spreading the roots out.
Space plants 30-40 cm apart.
For hanging baskets, use 3-4 plants per 12″ basket.
Water well after planting and keep soil moist but not waterlogged.
Protect young plants from slugs.
Remove the first flowers to help plants establish.
If growing in pots, feed with a balanced fertiliser through the growing season.
Switch to a high-potash liquid feed once flowering begins to encourage fruiting.
Net the plants if needed to protect them.
