- Start the seeds indoors between February and April.
- Sow the seeds on the surface of moist, well‑drained seed compost and press them in gently.
- Lightly cover with a fine layer of vermiculite or very thin compost.
- Place in a heated propagator at a constant temperature of 18-25c.
- The seeds will germinate in 15-30 days.
- Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow on in cooler conditions.
- Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions.
- Plant out once the danger of frost has passed, spacing plants about 30cm apart.
- Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier plants.
- Deadhead regularly to prolong the flowering season.
