Hot Pepper ‘Ponky Jane Red’

Pepper Hot ‘Ponky Jane Red’ F1 is a compact yet highly productive variety that’s perfect for hanging baskets and containers. After the initial harvest, they grow to 35–50 cm tall in containers or develop a trailing habit in hanging baskets. The bright red peppers have a medium heat and bold, spicy flavour, perfect for cooking or drying.

For best results in containers, stake plants for extra support as they grow.

Sow the seeds on moist soil and lightly cover.
Gently compress the soil and place it in a bright location.
These are best in a heated propagator, at a constant temperature of 22-24c.
Water as necessary and the seeds should germinate between 10-21 days.
Once true leaves have developed, transplant the seedlings into individual pots.
When 10-12cm plant in a greenhouse or conservatory with the root ball 1cm below the surface.
After the initial harvest, the plants will grow to 35-50cm tall with support.
Alternatively, they will develop a trailing habit in hanging baskets if not supported.
Water regularly and feed weekly with our all-purpose plant feed.
