Pepper ‘Hungarian Black’ is an heirloom variety which is known for its striking appearance and culinary versatility. The peppers start as a deep purple, almost black, before ripening to a vibrant red, offering a mild heat level comparable to jalapeños with a Scoville Heat Unit rating of 2500.

Pepper Hungarian Black – Growing Instructions

  1. Sow the seeds on moist soil and lightly cover.
  2. Gently compress the soil and place it in a bright location.
  3. These are best in a heated propagator, at a constant temperature of 22-24c.
  4. Water as necessary and the seeds should germinate between 7-14 days.
  5. Once true leaves have developed, transplant the seedlings into individual pots.
  6. The stem may require some support.
  7. Water regularly and feed weekly with our all-purpose plant feed
