- Start the seeds indoors between February-April.
- Sow the seed on the surface of well‑drained seed compost and gently cover.
- Place in a heated propagator between 20-25c.
- Germination should occur between 7-21 days.
- Once large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow on in cooler conditions.
- Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions after all risk of frost has passed.
- Water regularly while plants become established, especially in dry spells, but avoid waterlogging.
- Plants will usually flower from early summer through to autumn.
- Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming and reduce unwanted self‑seeding.
- Seeds can also be sown in autumn for early flowering the following year.
