A popular and versatile Butterhead variety suitable for sowing all year round and perfect for succession sowings. The heads are medium sized with solid crisp hearts, growing reliably from spring to late autumn even in hot dry periods. Although a hardy variety, autumn sowings should be covered with cloches or planted in a cold greenhouse to ensure cropping through winter.

- Can be direct seeded, 3 seeds every 8 inches in rows 12-18 inches apart, as early as the soil can be worked or grown indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting outdoors. Latest sowing Sep.
- Seeds germinate from around 50 degree F, germination rates will be lower above 70F.
- Cover seed lightly with about 1/8 inch of fine soil, and firm soil gently.
- Thin young seedlings to one plant per spot.
- Sow every 3 weeks for a continuous supply of fresh lettuce.
