- Sow the seeds indoors, at a depth of 10mm. Place 4 seeds per 8cm pot.
- Place at a temperature of 10-15c.
- Germination should occur between 10-21 days.
- Once germinated, grow on in cooler conditions.
- Once 10cm tall, thin the seedlings to the strongest plant.
- Gradually acclimatise the seedlings before planting outside when they are 20cm tall.
- Alternatively, directly sow outdoors between March-April.
- As the seedlings grow, thin them to 20cm apart.
- Regularly weed and water the area as needed.
- Pile the soil up around the plant as it grows to ensure blanched stems.
- Cover with netting if needed to prevent pests.
- Harvest as required from November.
