Green Manure Field Bean (Maris Bead)
A good green manure for late sowing Sep Nov annually, especially on heavier soils where their deep roots are not only able to penetrate & break up the soil, but fix valuable nitrogen too. Its foliage when dug in will add additional organic matter.

Position/ Light: Full Sun
- Best Sown Sep Nov at a rate of 20 gm per Meter Square.
- Clear any weeds, rake to a fine tilth and broadcast sow at approx. 20 Gram per square meter, lightly cover / dig in with the ideal sowing depth 5 cm.
- Seedlings will germinate within 7-14 days in warm soil.
- Green manure should be cut down before flowering when young and tender to help faster incorporation into the soil. Dig area over prior to following crop.
