- Sow seeds from April to May in modules or small pots undercover.
- Sow 1-2 cm deep in moist seed compost and lightly cover.
- Keep soil consistently warm and moist; seeds should germinate in 7–10 days.
- Pot on seedlings once large enough to handle, maintaining bright, sheltered conditions.
- Transplant outdoors from mid-May to June, spacing plants 60-90 cm apart.
- Harvest from mid-June to October when fruits are firm, dark green, and fully grown.
