- Sow seeds from mid-June to mid-July in modules or trays undercover.
- Sow 0.5–1cm deep in moist seed compost and lightly cover.
- Keep soil moist and the seeds should germinate in 7-14 days.
- Pot on seedlings once large enough to handle, maintaining bright, cool conditions.
- Transplant outdoors from July to early August (around 7th), spacing plants 25-30cm apart.
- Harvest from September to December when heads are fully formed, crisp, and vibrantly coloured.
