Broad Bean ‘Aquadulce’ is the hardiest of all broad bean varieties, perfect for sowing in late autumn for an early spring harvest.  It produces tender, flavourful beans on strong, upright plants. Ideal for fresh eating, steaming, or adding to soups and stews, this classic variety delivers consistent yields.

  1. Sow seeds from late October to mid-November directly outdoors 
  2. Alternatively sow from January to March undercover for an early crop. 
  3. Sow seeds 5cm deep and 20cm apart in double rows spaced 25 cm apart. 
  4. Water as needed and germinate will occur in 10–21 days. 
  5. Protect early sowings with fleece or cloches during cold weather. 
  6. Water regularly, especially during flowering and when pods set. 
  7. Harvest from May to mid-July when pods are full and beans are tender.
