Allium sphaerocephalon

Price range: £3.49 through £10.49

Pre-Order Available

Allium ‘sphaerocephalon’ (also known as Drumsticks) produces distinctive, two-tone flower heads. The oval-shaped blooms emerge green and gradually turn a rich crimson purple from the top down, creating a striking two-tone effect as they develop.

Its narrow green leaves die back before the flowers appear in early summer, making it an ideal companion for low-growing perennials that can fill the space below. Reaching a height of around 60 cm, it is well suited to borders, containers, and also works well as a cut flower. This variety will naturalise and spread to give you more flowers each year.
