Allium nigrum

Allium ‘nigrum’ (commonly known as Black Garlic) produces flat-topped heads of star-shaped, creamy-white flowers, each with a distinctive green central eye. Reaching a height of 80-100 cm, this variety adds vertical interest and structure to flower beds, offering an elegant contrast to more vibrant planting schemes.

The grey-green foliage dies back before the flowers emerge in early summer, making it well suited to planting alongside low-growing perennials that can fill the space below. Good for naturalising.
