- Clear the area around the plant and remove any existing weeds or debris. Â
- Sprinkle the wool pellets evenly around the base of plants to create a protective barrier. Â
- Apply the pellets in a continuous band around each plant, approximately 10cm wide, with no gaps. Â
- Make sure no leaves or stems overhang the barrier, as slugs and snails may use them to cross. Â
- Water the pellets after application so they swell and bind together to form a mat. Â
- Once expanded, the wool fibres create a rough surface that helps deter slugs and snails. Â
- Reapply if the barrier becomes thin, disturbed, or washed away. Â
- The pellets will gradually break down and can help add organic matter to the soil. Â
- Store unused pellets in a cool, dry place with the bag sealed.Â
