Strawberry Elsanta
- Remove the plants from the packaging as soon as they arrive.
- Soak the roots in water for 20-30 minutes to rehydrate them.
- Prepare well-drained soil in a sunny bed, pot, or container.
- Plant with the crown just above soil level, spreading the roots out.
- Space plants 30-40 cm apart.
- For hanging baskets, use 3-4 plants per 12″ basket.
- Water well after planting and keep soil moist but not waterlogged.
- Protect young plants from slugs.
- Remove the first flowers to help plants establish.
- If growing in pots, feed with a balanced fertiliser through the growing season.
- Switch to a high-potash liquid feed once flowering begins to encourage fruiting.
- Net the plants if needed to protect them.
