- Sow seeds from February to March in modules or small pots undercover.
- Sow 0.5–1 cm deep in moist seed compost and lightly cover.
- Maintain a temperature of 20c+ and the seeds should germinate in 7–14 days.
- Pot on seedlings once large enough to handle, keeping them in bright, sheltered conditions.
- Transplant outdoors from May to early June in a sunny, sheltered position, spacing plants 40-50 cm apart.
- Water regularly and provide support if needed.
- Harvest from July to mid-September when fruits are firm, glossy, and fully coloured.
